An impressive equestrian estate with an Olympic dressage training yard, with ancillary accommodation, and substantial 8 bedroom house featuring a large indoor pool, set in 150 acres of woodland and fields.
The requirement was to generate electricity for use on the estate as well as provide heating and hot water for three buildings and the indoor pool.
Baystar installed a 50kW solar PV system on a south-facing barn (40m across) to generate electricity for use on the estate which will substantially cut fuel costs and generate the FIT tariff.
Baystar also installed a 195kW multi- fuel Biomass boiler with burner, adapting the existing boiler-room and linking the three properties with a district heating system.
A project of this size will earn c£6,000 per annum in Feed-In Tariff payments for 25 years, and c£24,000 per annum in Renewable Heat Incentive payments for 20 years. The fuel cost saving will be approximately 50%.
