A fabulous new-build house and barn conversion in Newdigate.
The requirement was to design and install a renewable heating system to provide hot water and generate electricity for this newly built home.
Baystar installed solar thermal system to provide hot water and a 1.5kW solar PV system to generate electricity. The solar thermal will provide about 70% of the hot water requirements and around 50% of the electricity generated will be used in the property.
A project of this size will earn c£1,000 per annum in combined Renewable Heat Incentive and Feed-In Tariff payments for the first 7 years, and then c£300 per annum in Feed-In Tariff payments for the remaining 13 years. The fuel cost saving will be approximately 25%.
